Astrology, Computed Honestly
Patri Sutra computes Vedic astrology — birth charts, Dasha periods, Guna Milan matching, Panchang, and more — entirely on its own servers. We don't call any third-party astrology API, and we don't send your birth details anywhere else to get an answer.
How the calculations work
Planetary positions come from a Keplerian orbital-elements method (the same category of method used by many planetarium programs), Julian Day and sidereal time follow standard Meeus formulas, and the tropical-to-sidereal conversion uses a Lahiri ayanamsa model calibrated against published reference values. None of it depends on a paid ephemeris service or an external geocoding API — place lookup uses a hand-curated list of cities with their coordinates and timezones built into the app.
Accuracy
This targets the precision a kundli actually needs (about arc-minute accuracy for planets), which is well inside what's needed to place a planet in the correct sign, nakshatra, and pada. It is not a replacement for a professional astrologer's full judgment — every result page on this site says so, because it's true.
Your data
A kundli you generate gets a private, unguessable shareable link. If you're logged in, your kundlis are also listed in your dashboard. If you're not logged in, only the link lets you (or anyone you share it with) find it again.
